Democrat Party chief adviser and former prime minister Chuan Leekpai has turned his back on the government's political reform assembly, and said the government must lead by example.

Mr Chuan said he rejected the invitation from Chartthaipattana Party chief adviser Banharn Silpa-archa to join the assembly, initiated by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
