Thawil Pliensri has received royal endorsement to be reinstated as National Security Council (NSC) chief, the Office of the Prime Minister said yesterday.

His reinstatement follows the nullification of the office's announcement on Sept 30, 2011 removing Mr Thawil as NSC secretary-general and making him a prime ministerial adviser. This means Mr Thawil was retroactively reinstated as NSC chief.

Mr Thawil's royal endorsement was published in the Royal Gazette yesterday.
