One company of soldiers from the 19th Infantry Battalion have taken control of the Thaicom satellite base station in Nonthaburi and Channel 11 television station of the Public Relations Department on Vibhavadi Rangsit road.
The out-bound traffic lane on Rattanathibet road has been closed.
Earlier, shortly after 3am when Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, the army chief, invoked the martial law, about 20 soldiers, fully armed, from the 1st Cavalry Battalion arrived the head office of the Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (Capo) at the police club on three humvee vehicles and took control of it.
Soldiers have reportedly been deployed at all television stations.
