Red shirt Lung Yim reports in

Pruek Prueksunan, a red-shirt activist better known as "Lung Yim Tasawang", did not go quietly as he reported to a National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) summons yesterday.

Pruek Prueksunan, a red-shirt activist better known as Lung Yim Tasawang, arrives to report to the National Council for Peace and Order with a suitcase at the Army Auditorium in Thewes, Bangkok.

Wearing a pink shirt, he gave journalists a three-finger anti-coup salute before entering the army's auditorium in Bangkok's Thewet area yesterday morning. The gesture has become a symbol of the anti-coup movement.

Mr Pruek is active with the United for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) and is known for posting repeated predictions on the internet about violent incidents that later materialised.

Other people who arrived yesterday at the auditorium in response to summonses included Thanaporn Sriyakul, leader of the Khon Thammada Haeng Prathet Thai political party and Chulalongkorn University lecturer Suthachai Yimprasert.

Six people are yet to respond to the NCPO's summonses. They are Pranee Danwattananusorn, wife of UDD figure Surachai "Surachai Sae Dan" Danwattananusorn; Jitra Khochadech, president of the Triumph labour union; Pruetnarin Thanaboriboonsuk; Pipat Phansuwan; Siraphop Korn-urus and Wanchalerm Satsaksit.

Former senator Ruangkrai Leekijwattana was released after being detained for one day on Monday. He said he was held at a military camp in Saraburi province, where he was treated well and had the chance to share political opinions with camp officials.

Military officials told him they were acting for the sake of the nation, not for any particular group of people, said Mr Ruangkrai.

Meanwhile, 13 rifles, three pistols, and 10 ping-pong bombs were seized by police in a forest in Phetchabun's Muang district. The weapons were believed to have been dropped there by suspects who evaded a previous weapons raid in Lom Sak district.

In Trat province, a Chinese-made grenade was found in a plastic bag near a traffic sign in Muang district, local police said.
