PM-elect calls forsurrogacy 'restraint'

National Council for Peace and Order head and premier-elect Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha has ordered authorities investigating the surrogacy scandal to relax their enforcement of regulations to ensure the safety of children.

Gen Prayuth said in his televised address the legislation to regulate surrogacy services in Thailand is still not clear, so he ordered agencies concerned to ease their enforcement of the regulations case by case. This is to ensure the safety of the babies as pregnant surrogate women are now getting scared and avoiding visiting doctors.
