Thaksin to meet up with loyalists in HK

Deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will visit Hong Kong later this month and many red-shirt and Pheu Thai members are expected to meet him there, a Pheu Thai Party source said.

Thaksin: Expecting many supporters

The trip to Hong Kong was planned soon after Thaksin celebrated his 65th birthday at a party in Paris on July 26, to which only family members and close associates were invited, Matichon Online quoted the party source as saying.

The source said Thaksin had suggested that former ministers, Pheu Thai MPs and red-shirt supporters should meet him in Hong Kong on Sept 23-25, as this would be more convenient for them. It was expected many of Thaksin's supporters would fly to the Chinese territory to meet him, the source said.
