CentralWorld fire case dismissed

The case against two defendants accused of setting fire to CentralWorld on May 19, 2010, has been dropped.

The defendants' lawyer, Arkom Rattanapojanart, said the case was dismissed after the prosecution missed the Dec 3 deadline to submit an appeal to the Supreme Court over an earlier acquittal of the pair, Saichol Paebua and Pinit Jannarong.

The Southern Bangkok Criminal Court acquitted the men on March 25, 2013, of setting fire to CentralWorld at the end of the fatal crackdown by the Abhisit administration against the anti-government protesters.
