The National Reform Council's (NRC) subcommittee on public participation will begin taking opinions from the general public on the content of a new constitution on Jan 17-18, with a forum in Suphan Buri province, panel chairwoman Thawilburi Burikul said on Monday.
Mrs Thawilburi said the forum will hear opinions on issues such as reconciliation, the qualifications of good politicians, how to be a good citizen, solutions to corruption problems and how to narrow social disparities.
About 160 people in Suphan Buri and nearby provinces will be picked at random from domicile registration documents and 40 from special groups such as the disabled and youth to join the forum.
Mrs Thawilburi said the first forum will be held in Suphan Buri province on Jan 17-18, followed by Roi Et province on Jan 23-24, Udon Thani on Feb 14-15 and Surin on March 7-8.
Rules will be set for participants to follow in areas where conflict of opinion is high, she said.
