PT to wait, prove itself in elections

The Pheu Thai Party will not take the National Legislative Assembly (NLA)'s impeachment of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra as a condition to create political unrest but will wait to prove itself in elections, acting party deputy spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ard said on Sunday.

Mr Anusorn said although Ms Yingluck and the Pheu Thai Party felt having been treated with injustice the party will not take this as an issue to trigger political moves to fan up the conflict.

It was now time for Ms Yingluck and Pheu Thai to prove themselves through available legal channels.  Reports of Ms Yingluck and Pheu Thai preparing to hold press conferences at various venues to outline their next moves were totally not true and should stop, Mr Anusorn said.

He said Ms Yingluck and Pheu Thai wanted to see Thailand in peace and move forward.

Since the government has already been burdened with the task of solving the economic problems, there should not be any unfavourable movements to worsen the situation, he added.

"We hope that when the country has attained a full-fledged democracy, Ms Yingluck and the Pheu Thai Party would be given justice.  We want to see democracy return to Thailand as soon as possible.

"The people are already watching the situation closely.  It is not necessary for anyone to make them move.  They know they have to swallow the pain and wait for the time to make their voices heard in polling booths," Mr Anusorn said.
