Yingluck arraignment in two weeks

Public prosecutors expect to submit a case in the Supreme Court against former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra for alleged dereliction of duty in the rice-pledging scheme by Feb 21.

Spokesman for the Office of the Attorney-General, Wanchai Rujanawong, said on Sunday the prosecutors had finished drafting an indictment for Ms Yingluck’s arraignment in the Criminal Division for Political Office Holders. They would compile a large amount of documentation to be submitted with the indictment.

Mr Wanchai said no actual date had yet been set. But a draft indictment would again be sent to Attorney-general Trakul Winitnaiyapak for deliberation before arraignment takes place on or before Feb 21.
