Chart Pattana's Suwat turns 60 today

Former deputy prime minister Suwat Liptapanlop, chief adviser of the Chart Pattana Party, opened his house on Ratchawithi road to well wishers as he celebrated his 60th birthday on Monday.

A religious ceremony performed by senior monks led by Phra Maha Ratchamangalacharn, who is acting for the supreme patriarch, was held at Mr Suwat's house.

A large number of politicians including members of the Chart Pattana Party, key personaliies in sports   and business circles and close associates turned up to attend the ceremony.

They included Chart Pattana Party leader Wannarat Charnnukul, party secretary-general Prasert Boonsukchai, former deputy foreign minister Preecha Laohapongchana, former industry minister Charnchai Chairungruang, Olympic Committee of Thailand president Yutthasak Sasiprapa and Lt Gen Tawatchai Samutsakhon, a member of the National Reform Council.

Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Pheu Thai Party members did not turn up and sent  flowers instead.
