The Supreme Court will hold a plenary meeting on Tuesday to select the nine-judge panel to handle the case against former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
The Office of the Attorney-General on Thursday indicted Ms Yingluck in the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office-Holders for alleged dereliction of duty over losses and graft in her government's rice-pledging scheme.
Supreme Court president Direk Ingkaninanda set Tuesday as the date for the grand chamber of the court to meet to select the Yingluck panel, said Thanarerk Nitisenee, head of the Criminal Division for Political Office-Holders. Once appointed the nine judges will convene to decide whether to hear the case. They will decide on March 19.
