Govt to declare 6-month work results Apr 17

The government of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will declare its six-month work results on April 17, PM's Office spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp said on Sunday.

Mr Yongyuth said Gen Prayut would be the main speaker when the government's work achievements are declared on April 17, while the deputy prime ministers will give additional information to the media during the question-and-answer period.

In its work report, the government will outline work under its policies in 11 areas as mentioned earlier in its policy statement delivered to the National Legislative Assembly.

Emphasis will be on the the restoration of peace and security and the country's reforms because the government came to power at a time when the country was plagued with conflict.

Other achievements to be announced include action on the problems of human-trafficking and illegal fishing and the registration of migrant workers.

These problems, which were left unsolved by the previous governments, have affected the country's image. The government has taken serious measures to solve them and made concrete achievements, Mr Yongyuth said.

He said on April 17 the first government newsletter will be distributed to reporters.

Apinan Chantharangsee, director-general of the Public Relations Department, said the newsletter will be a tabloid with eight pages, each the size of A4 paper.

The newsletter will mainly feature the government's implementation of its road map to reforms, the work of each ministry and how the people's problems have been solved.
