Results of the investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding the controversial Rajabhakti Park project will be revealed tomorrow, army chief Gen Theerachai Nakwanich said on Thursday.

Speaking before his departure for an inspection of the 2nd Army region, Gen Theerachai said he would hold a news conference to reveal the findings of investgators tomorrow at 11am.

He said he had been briefed on the results by Gen Veerun Chantasatkosol, the army's advisory chairman, who leads the investigation. Gen Theerachai, however, declined to say whether the investigation was complete.

He also refused to comment on reports that Col Khachachart Boondee, a lese majeste suspect who reportedly had fled to Myanmar, had been arrested, saying he would answer all questions Friday.

Lt Gen Somsak Nilbancherdkul, the 3rd Army commander, dismissed as untrue the report that Col Khachachart had been arrested.

He said Myanmar had been asked to help track down the officer but so far he had not been informed of any developments. He had been in contact with the Thai-Myanmar joint border committees at six main crossings for information about Col Khachachart.

Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, the police chief, also denied a report which said that he crossed the border to Myanmar yesterday afternoon to pick up Col Khachachart who had been arrested.

The police chief said he made an unscheduled trip to Sao Hin police station in Mae Hong Son province, but did not cross the border.

He said he visited the station, which is situated in a remote area, to see the living conditions of his subordinates who had asked for a new solar panel.
