Srivara appointed deputy police chief

His Majesty the King has endorsed the appointment of Srivara Rangsipramanakul as the new deputy national police chief.

The appointment, which takes effect retroactively from Oct 1, was published in the Royal Gazette on Monday.

The King also granted royal endorsement to his promotion to the rank of police general.

The royal command was countersigned by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The Police Commission on Oct 21 approved the promotion of Pol Gen Srivara, an assistant police chief, to deputy police chief, replacing Pol Gen Aek Angsananont, who was appointed permanent secretary of the Prime Minister's Office.
