Outspoken Pheu Thai Party member Worachai Hema was released from a military camp on Tuesday, and again ordered to keep his political opinions to himself.

The former MP for Samut Prakan was taken from the 11th Military Circle back to his house around noon, according to his lawyer Winyat Chatmontri. Mr Worachai's release was confirmed in a picture sent to him by his client's family, he said.

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) detained Mr Worachai at the camp for three nights. He was taken in on Saturday, one day after he posted comments on social media urging Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to resign if the draft charter is rejected by a public referendum.

The edited version of the proposed new charter was forwarded by Constitution Drafting Committee chairman Meechai Ruchupan to the government and military regime on Tuesday.

Mr Winyai said Mr Worachai was safe and released on same conditions set earlier - that he must stop making political comments and must get approval if he wants to go outside the country.

His party colleague, Watana Muangsuk, remains at the 11th Miliary Circle, having reported to the NCPO on Monday after calling for the release of Mr Worachai.

Gen Prayut said on Monday that he will not tolerate politicians who  keeping piling criticism on the government, and will have "a training course" arranged to re-educate them.

Army chief Teeracha Nakwanich took up the idea on Tuesday, saying that anybody who defies the order would be a target for a longer stay in the "course" after it is prepared.
