The eight administrators of a Facebook page that satirised the prime minister have been granted bail for a third 12-day period and are required to report to the Bangkok Military Court on July 3.
The eight -- Harit Mahaton, Natthika Worathaiyawich, Noppakao Kongsuwan, Worawit Saksamutnan, Yothin Mangkhangsanga, Thanawat Buranasiri, Supachai Saibut and Kannasit Tangboonthina -- reported to the court on Thursday in a case in which they were charged with inciting unrest under Section 116 of the Criminal Code and violating the Computer Crime Act.
All of them had earlier been freed on bail on May 11 and were required to report to the court today.
However, Ms Natthika and Mr Harit continued to be detained because they also faced a lese majeste charge. The two were taken from a Bangkok prison to the court today.
The court again granted bail for the eight for another 12 days from May 13 to July 3. They are to report to the court in this case on July 3.
Winyat Chartmontree, the lawyer for the eight, said that after the third 12-day detention period, his team of lawyers would submit a request for the eight to be tried in a civilian court because their alleged violation of Section 116 and the Computer Crime Act for criticising Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha was not related to national security but was an offence against an individual.
As for Ms Natthika and Mr Harit, who had remained in detention for the lese majeste charge, Mr Winyat said the lawyers would again apply for their release on bail and increase the surety to 700,000 baht each.
In a separate case, Crime Suppresion Division investigators submitted a request to the Bangkok Military Court for approval to detain lese majeste suspect Patnaree Charnkij, mother of Sirawith "Ja New" Serithiwat, core member of the Resistant Citizen Group, for 12 days pending further investigation.
Ms Patnaree, who had earlier been freed on bail, also reported to the court. She was again released on bail and required to next report to the court on May 31.
