125 victims of political violence to get compensation

The Social Development and Human Security Ministry's Social Development and Welfare Department has released an initial list of 125 victims of the political violence of 2013-2014 who are entitled to compensation.

These victims will be paid humanitarian compensation by the state.

The department had examined the applications and was now releasing the first list of 125 victims entitled to compensation. Assessments were still being made. Further names would follow later.

Of the 125  -- 25 who were killed, each entitled to 400,000 baht compensation; 15 with serious injuries, 100,000 baht each; 18 with lesser injuries, 60,000 baht each; and, 67 with minor injuries, 20,000 baht each.

No disabled were included in the first list of victims entitled to compensation, said Mr Puthipat.
