Yingluck visiting Bung Kan in Isan

Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra travelled to the northeastern province of Bung Kan to meet supporters on Monday morning, according to media reports.

Accompanied by a number of former Pheu Thai Party MPs, Ms Yingluck was due to arrive at Sakon Nakhon airport on Monday at 9am.

From there, she was to proceed to Bung Kan province where she and her group would have lunch at a restaurant beside the Mekong River in the provincial town.

At 1pm, the group was scheduled to head for Wat Phu Thok, a major tourist spot, at Ban Kham Khaen Pattana in tambon Na Saeng of Si Wilai district and then continue on  to Nong Kudthing, a wetland site, in Muang district for sightseeing.

The former prime minister was to meet her Facebook followers in front of Bung Kan School in Muang district in the afternoon before leaving for Udon Thani, from where she would take a return flight to Bangkok.

The tour was reportedly  based on demands made by her Facebook followers. Ms Yingluck has reportedly chosen to visit the three provinces giving her the most support.  The first province was Kalasin, which she visited last week.

She plans to next visit Phrae province in the North, reports said.
