Prayut visiting Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha arrived in Narathiwat on Monday morning for a one-day visit to inspect the implementation of government projects and chair a security meeting on the overall situation in the far South.

The prime minister and his entourage left Don Mueang military airport on an army aircraft about 7am and arrived at the Narathiwat Task Force headquarters at the provincial government offices centre in tambon Khok Khian about 9am.

He was accompanied by Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, army chief Gen Theerachai Nakwanich, Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paojinda and Commerce Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikulya.

Gen Prayut viewed an exhibition featuring results of military operations in the 13 districts. Among the many items on display were weapons and explosives seized from insurgent jungle camps in the mountains that were captured by government forces.

He received briefings from Narithiwat government Sithichai Sakda,  Lt Gen Wiwat Pathompak, the 4th Army commander, and Panu Uthairat, secretary-general of the Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre.

The prime minister also chaired a meeting where he was updated on other aspects.

Gen Prayut and his entourage then attended a ceremony at the auditorium of the, where he witnessed title deeds to 800 blocks of land on Budo mountain range in Sungai Padi district being issued to previously landless people in Rueso, Rangae, Bacho, Yingo, Sungai Padi and Cho Airong districts.
