PATTANI -- A milk truck was hijacked by armed men at a school in Sai Buri district on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The truck was delivering milk to Ban Chamao Samton School in tambon Tao Rabon when it was held up by the six men, who arrived on three motorcycles armed with two rifles and one pistol.
The hijack occurred about 1.40pm in front of the school.
The driver and other crew were forced out of the truck at gunpoint. One of the robbers stole a mobile phone from the driver, hopped into the driver's seat and drove away along Highway 42 (Pattani-Narathiwat).
The stolen vehicle is a Pattani-registered Isuzu pickup truck, licence plate No Bor Thor 1426.
Police manning checkpoints along the highway were alerted to wath for and intercept the stolen truck, which police fear could later be used as car bomb.
