PATTANI -- Two men and a 10-year-old boy were wounded when an improvised bomb exploded after gunmen opened fire on a house in Mayo district on Wednesday night, police said.

Eyewitnesses told police the attack occurred about 9.10pm. Two armed men arrived at house No.86 at Ban Yon village in tambon Lobo Yirai and began shooting at it.
Before leaving, the attackers placed a home-made bomb in front of the house.
A subsequent explosion injured Wilab Suwanna, 52, his son Supat, 20, and a boy Vachirawit Samaeng, 10. They were treated at Mayo Hospital.
The front of the house was extensively damaged. Police were investigating.
