NARATHIWAT -- An employee of an irrigation project was shot dead while on his way to work in Muang district on Thursday morning, police said.
Pol Capt Nathnin Anupaboonyawat, an investigator of Muang district, said Pongsak Yodla-iad, 41, was shot about 7.40am while travelling on a motorcycle along Ban Thamniap - Ban Bangpo road in tambon Lamphu.
He was followed by two men on another motorcycle. The pillion rider opened fire at Pongsak, hitting him once in the back of his head, killing him instantly. The attackers fled.
Police were investigating.
