PATTANI -- Two assistant village chiefs were wounded when a bomb detonated as they were examining a pickup truck in Khok Pho district on Monday morning, according to media reports.
The incident occurred about 8am at Ban Thung Yao in tambon Khok Pho.
Maroni Malae, 42, and Matrusdil Sohhaman, 45, both assistants to the village chief, were examining a Mazda pickup believed to have been used in a robbery and murder in Songkhla's Thepha district on Sunday.
A home-made bomb hidden in the vehicle was remotely detonated.
The two men were rushed to Khok Pho Hospital.
Police were investigating.
