Four troopers injured by Yala bomb explosion

YALA - Four soldiers on patrol duty were wounded when a roadside bomb went off on Monday morning in Yala's Muang district, police said.

Sgt Veera Meerit, Pvt Apisak Rakdee, Pvt Kraisorn Ruangkit and Pvt Damrong Pilapan, all from the Yala Task Force, sustained injuries but were conscious after the blast.

The soldiers were patrolling an area in tambon Satengnok on two motorcycles when the bomb exploded.
 
Found at the scene were the remains of what appeared to be a 10kg homemade bomb. Debris including shattered bits of a circuit board and steel fragments were collected by an explosive ordnance disposal unit for further examination.

The attack was believed to be the work of a militant group active the area and headed by Roki Dolloh.
