High security for 464 spots in Bangkok

The Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES) has resolved to step up security measures by keeping 464 spots in the capital prone to attack under watch round the clock, Pol Maj-Gen Piya Uthayo said on Friday.

Pol Maj-Gen Piya, the metropolitan police spokesman, said  personnel to be deployed for security will be drawn from the 1st Army Region, Metropolitan Police Bureau and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Under a special operational plan adopted by the CRES, the 464 spots are grouped in three security levels.  They are:

Good news! While both the economy and tourism are booming again, having the extra security provided by our army will reduce the risk for more redshirt terrorist attacks.

Don't bother trying to explain. Save your energy. These sheeple prefer to feel safe in their comfort zone, getting their needs satisfied, supporting and obeying the elite. they are staying put while focusing their worries and nightmares to what the government and state media is feeding them. Go with the flow, and avoid any kind of trouble or headache. The same type of people that always come up with these complains about taxi's, this and that.

Thank god today you also meet a lot of different kind of foreigners. Those that actually think for themselves and keep their heads straight, while doing their best trying to understand and comprehend the international and cultural differences... (Still think for themselves, how ironic is that.)

But uhm yeah I feel really good when i stumble in to another group of young boys with automatic machine guns while i walk out of the bts terminal. It makes me feel safe. I can go home and sleep well sweet dreams without worries.

"attend a meeting at the CRES headquarters on Friday afternoon to be briefed on the operation plan"

Don't forget to bring your pen and paper!!!!

Just have a look at the editorial next page: "Little security despite decree". This "tighten security" is useless for the safety of Bangkok people, as no one is ever arrested for any bombing in Bangkok. But maybe useful for other political purposes.

It feels good having higher security when redshirts are planning more attacks. They even admitted their continued terror plans for the BBC reporter the other night.

English Bob (disc. 8) Exactly. You got it right.

These people talking about 'safety' and protection against these evil red boogey-man are nothing but lazy folks that haven't overcome the brainwash propaganda yet. they are still having scary nightmares. if only they would take some time to study and learn more about what is really going on. no, i do not approve violence and i do not support or advocate any group. but before you defend any of these outrageous unlawful 'measures' by any government, ask yourself; why has violence taken place in thai society, in the fist place? again? oh come on, as if this was the first time. wake up.

today, fascism is around the corner. if not, it was already here. pre '89, the world was a 'volatile' place. today, post '91 the stuff that is happening doesn't 'fit' in this world anymore. The Bout-case seems to symbolize this strange relation perfectly. not even the region in which Thailand is located has that many tension and problems. sure, there are countries out there with their own problems (Burma), but I know for a fact that the amount of casualties and victims in this country is the highest of them all. An absolute tragic. And this should not be happening.

Anyway, good luck defending those driving their Benz, while nothing changes, on the contrary....

Wait, there are really "464 spots in the capital prone to attack"?! How long will these spots be 'prone to attack'? Do they have orders to 'fire into the air' like last time?

Are the people of Bangkok so afraid that they'll allow a standing army of heavily armed 20-something year olds to prowl the streets 24/7 that can arrest/shoot anyone they please without a warrant? *cough nazi germany cough*

English Bob (discussion 8) : I agree with you.

Telling that government is responsable of the bombing right now in Bangkok sounds ridiculous.

As ridicilous as telling that it was the reds shirts who shot the reds shirts and that the 50 000 troops facing them as nothing to do with that.

or as ridiculous that the troops filmed while shouting in BTS were reds in army clothes.

Or as ridiculous as to tell that the illegal donation received by PAD was a conspiracy of CRES.

    etc etc...

    Disc #8, English_Bob,
OK, I won't suggest that....But, whos stands to benefit more/most from the SOE to be continued, possibly indefinitely?
