Brace for city attacks, PM warns

Army chief condemns planting of 3 bombs

The prime minister is warning the public to brace for more violence in the capital in the coming weeks.

Abhisit Vejjajiva's comments follow the condemnation yesterday by army commander Anupong Paojinda of the perpetrators of three bombs in Bangkok and Nonthaburi on Wednesday night.

The prime minister said the three unexploded bombs found in front of a school in Bangkok's Phaya Thai district, at The Mall Ngam Wong Wan and at the Public Health Ministry in Nonthaburi were intended to send a symbolic message.

The prime minister is warning the public to brace for more violence in the capital in the coming weeks. He will send in troops and shoot people he believes are a treat to his Goverment. With his control of the press Thai people will be told what is needed to maintain his control.

The is no point to always refuse election with excuses like "there are votes buying" (discussion 8) or don't speak about democracy.

If those things might happen, neutral international observers can be sent. It has been done in many countries and works perfectly.

But what a surprise, this government refuses it. Like they refused international investigations asked by the reds about the 90 people killed and.... sent colonels to investigate about possible army shoooting. Ridiculous.

Prove that you have majority by something else that coup, parlementary dirty tricks, military or stop talking about democracy. And don't be surprised that while your nod your head in front of that military political regime, some don't.

#2 Or 3. The violence in the south is moving to the capital. I'm surprised the press is not discussing that possibility.

It is likely that the wealthy people in charge benefit from splitting the Thai people in groups, if not hey could all go together and work for a better country where all citizens get a fair share and the country would develop for the poor as well.
But this would mean higher salaries to the working class.

"Gen Anupong said the attempts at causing unrest were hurting everyone in the country as they affected the tourism industry".

Fixing the value of the Baht would help the tourism industry too.

    @ Tan Sri (discussion 1):

without taking any stance in my post pro or against the current government, i can agree to one statement of yours:

'We need a good leader with courage to say we will have an election in a time frame that's reasonable, commit and show work towards the target date.'

question: do you see any? on BOTH sides... (i mean one who also would be supported by a good team working with him - no leader can do all only by him/herself).

    proposals appreciated...

Even after all this, the exports are increasing as stated in the news and Thai Baht seems to be getting stronger and stronger! Though the one might not be directly related to the other but in many countries this would have an adverse effect on the economy; hence, the currency would fall but not in Thailand.
