Army: Border post attacked overnight

Cambodian soldiers attacked a Thai outpost at Phu Ma Khua in the disputed border area several times overnight, but were repulsed, army spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said on Wednesday.

Col Sansern said there were no Thai casualties.

The Cambodian attack began about 8pm, when they threw hand grenades at the Thai position in the Phu Ma Khua area, on disputed land in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak district.

About 9pm, Cambodian soldiers tried to break through the fence around the post, but were repelled by Thai soldiers throwing hand grenades.

The Thai army spokesman said the attacks showed Cambodian forces were paying no attention to the United Nations Security Council's call for a permanent ceasefire.Non-sense,Cambodia army spokes man said,He never order Cambodia soldiers to attack Thai soldiers. He said (Cambodia) after the UNSC meeting at New York Cambodia has taked an order to cease fires.Again, Thailand commander said, his soldiers saw 10 to 15 Cambodia forces attacked them every nights. That why we're (Thai soldiers) fight back. The conclusion is, did Cambodia soldiers really attacking Thai soldiers or Thai soldiers saw a ghosts attacked them every night.I believe the Thai soldiers did saw a ghosts (Thai soldiers) crawling back to their base (Thai outpost at Phu Ma Khua).I believe the Thai soldiers being haunted by the Thai soldiers ghosts, whom's has been killed during the clashed with Cambodia soldiers.Because, what I know 50 or more Thai soldiers has been kill during the clashing. But army hiding from the Thai news. The fact is, Thai soldiers got hurt or injures during that night.Thai soldiers threw 50 or more hand grenades at Cambodia soldiers. The inccident is when Thai soldiers throw hand grenade at Cambodia soldiers and the grenade hitting the tree branch and fall back to Thai soldiers.Threfore, all the evidences from Col Sansern said is not true.

I fully agreed and supported discussion #1, 2, and 3. All both sides people who are living along border have been suffering enough from war destruction of both lives and property. They need to exchange business with each other to settle their daily living. It is useless that Thai spent a millions for military who are recently blaming each other for firing and through grenades, violated UNSC's decision. I support idea of discussion #1 and 2 to have UNSC deploy there as baffle zone to ensure which party violates its decision. Please stop fighting and come to negotiation table with third party participated.

I believe Thailand will be alone if the war begin.

Khun Ayuttaya #5, that's a poor analogy. How's about a ruin of a shack at the end of your estate by the fence? Khun Josh #3's suggestion is an excellent idea. No (Hindu) temple, no more problems, especially, when the people in Thailand and Cambodia are predominantly Buddhists. So, what the point of having this ancient Hindu temple to be the source of continuing conflict between the two Buddhist neighbors?

Why did the Thais pay attention to the south? They blew up civilians, monks and they only see the problem with Cambodia and not to the south state of Thailand. Bangkok and Phnom Penh should bring the 3rd party to observe on board. I hope the poor people on both side of the border live in peace, so they can trade or doing their business as before, the yellow (PAD) causing border clashed......

    Josh,
Your neighbor has been wanting to move into your house
and swim in your swimming pool for many years now, so
is it ok if we blow up your house so that you too can
stop arguing and fighting and I can get my beauty sleep?

blow up the temple and get it over with. or let cambodia have it and both sides profits from tourism and peace along border, common it only 4.6 squre kilometers don't need to loose lifes on both sides over this. let say Thai army has to spent 200 million bath to keep the army along the border for a month or two. some body do some number please, and ask youself is it worth it for all the money, life, and peaceful along the border being interupted for a little piece of land.
i think i can buy that amount of land some where in thailand for less than 200 million bath and no body die.

I neither want to hear who break the UNSC recomendation nor who start to fight first.
The better way is set the UNSC's force to keep that place in buffle zone.
If you your an innocent or injured party, whydon't you accept the Cambodian proposed (place UNSC's forces)?

it is good to have observers at the border because thailand and cambodia accused each other in relation to the latest attack
