Security guard slain in Pattani

A security guard at Na Pradoo train station was killed in a drive-by shooting in Pattani’s Khok Pho district early Wednesday morning, Pol Col Rapeepong Sukpaibul, chief of Na Pradoo police station, said.

Phachara Assawadechakul, 32, was returning home on his motorcycle about 6am after working at the train station when a man riding pillion on another motorcycle fired at him with a 9mm handgun.

The victim took two bullets in his torso. He was taken to Khok Pho hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
