Govt: Situation under control

All security agencies are closely watching the international terrorism situation and assure that the situation is under control, Deputy Prime Minister Kowit Wattana said today.

Pol Gen Kowit, who is in charge of security affairs, was speaking at a press conference after a cabinet meeting in Chiang Mai. Also present were Defence Minister Yutthasak Sasiprapa and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul.

He said the cabinet was told about travel warnings issued by the United States and other countries of possible terrorist attacks in Bangkok.

What he meant to say was that Thais were never the target, so it is all clear, just stay away from your American and Isreali friends for a while and you will be safe.

I feel sure that if Thailand had reacted to the threat responsibly and efficiently, the US Government would not have issued a warning.
Despite all the posturing (and 'telling off' America lol), the situation has been cocked up...
Firstly, there was a failed attempt to arrest the suspects at KSR.
Secondly, one suspect was arrested as he attempted to leave the country, inferring that his terrorist activity was complete (or he read of the imminent arrest after it was published in the newspaper!)
And thirdly, there is another terrorist wandering around somewhere that they failed to arrest.

"Thai officials were not very happy when the US unilaterally revealed there might be terrorist attacks in the country, as Thailand was not a terrorist target, he said."

    Either Was Bali !

"As for what the US has done, I have already expressed my disappointment through the media and this was a diplomatic way of telling the US off for not consulting with Thailand first," Mr Surapong said.

That`s Big Of Him , Just Blowing Hot RED Air , Maybe Thailand should just give ALL the "Flood Aid Money" Back To The USA Then , Just To Prove A Point ?

Honestly , Where does Thailand Find Them ?

This PM And PTP ARE A JOKE !

Why can't these Puea Thaksin muppets shut-up until they got something important to say?

  • Discussion 2 : 15/01/2012 at 05:49 PM2

About as under control as the flooding was last year as the gov't told us again and again? If Bangkok was never a target then why did the terrorists come over here? Holiday?

Seems that the many Deputy Prime Ministers are all trying to convince themselves the situation is under control.

Keep saying it boys and eventually you will believe it.
