#1 At present the response seems to be to ignore and hope it goes away. The only certain way to end the conflict would be to 'give in to terrorism', which would be unacceptable, seemingly at any price. Of course the people paying that price are innocents, such as this boy murdered for no good reason, or others simply doing their jobs and unable to change anything.

It falls to the government to come up with a fresh initiative, but of course words are cheap. Sadly it seems as though 'southern' life is also cheap, and expendable.

Such a dreadful and wasteful loss of a young life, and his brave father. Our thoughts must be with the family and all the others in similarly dangerous positions. When will it all end ?

Like the government, I have no response.
