Gunmen kill policeman and son, 14

A police officer and his 14-year-old son have been killed in a shooting attack in Pattani.
Pol Snr Sgt Maj Sathaporn Khongphud, 50, and son Patcharapol, a Mathayom Suksa 3 (Grade 9) student, were shot as they waited for a school van near Ban Saphanma intersection on Tha Sadej Road in tambon Taluban in Sai Buri district around 7am yesterday.
Three men on a pickup truck opened fire with an M16 assault rifle and a 9mm pistol. The victims were hit in the head and torso and died on the spot.
