PM demands answers on deaths

Army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha had been ordered to investigate Sunday's shooting incident at Ban Kayi in Pattani's Nong Chik district and report his findings in detail by this afternoon, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Tuesday.

Ms Yingluck said if those killed and wounded in the incident were found to be innocent villagers, the government would fully take care of them.

The army must be given some time to investigate and establish facts to make sure that all concerned were treated justly, she said.

Right on Ma'am, you are on the right track, this is what is needed. While you are at it demand to get the answers on Tai Bak and the other mass killings which happened during your brother's tenure.

If they are found to be innocent villagers and the government will take care of them, I would assume Yingluck means that each family will receive a minimum of 10-million baht? Wait, these aren't red shirts...just southern Thai's. That would be 5,000baht and a bag of rice?

It would be nice if she demanded answers why the Army is so incompetent in the South instead of jumping on a single issue with a PR style demand for answers in 48 hours.

She has ORDERED the chief to go investigate? What gives her the right to do this when she can't even communicate in her job
