A policeman was seriously wounded by two gunmen in Cho Airong district of Narathiwat province this afternoon.
Pol Lt Kittikhun Pattamanusorn of Cho Airong police station said Pol Sr Sgt-Maj Veerachai Yudam, 40, was attacked while returning home on his motorcycle on the Yaning-Cho Airong road in tambon Chuap by two men on another motorcycle about 1.40pm.
The two men, each armed with a pistol, opened fire at him. One of the shots hit him in the left ribcage and another in the thigh, wounding him seriously.
