The situation is clearly escalating, something needs to be done, but what? There are so many murders now, and this is the second time in a week that a child has been shot. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the different sides they at least need to be talking about a solution. It is very depressing, and everyone I speak to about it is either too scared to even consider the issue, or simply ignores it.

As others pointed out elsewhere there is a 'double standard' in that any time somebody is killed by the Army or Police there is an outcry, but 'ordinary' murders by insurgents are mere statistics. Until the powers in the land launch a bold initiative this will go on indefinitely. I don't mean 'observation' balloons or more 'forces' either, it is surely time to TALK.
