Three bomb blasts rock city

- Five injured in bedlam, one suspect blows his own legs off - Israel blames attacks on Iranian terrorists

The bombs that exploded in a busy Bangkok street yesterday were intended for "foreign nationals" in Thailand, national police chief Priewpan Damapong said.

Bystanders watch as a bomb disposal expert approaches the attack site in front of Kasem Phithaya School on Sukhumvit Soi 71. PRAKIT JUNTHAWONG

He did not give further details but said only that the targets were not Thais.

Last time the US and Israel warned Thailand they found enough chemicals to make a bomb that could have been as big as 4.5 TONS.Then the Thai officals said they were angry at the US for moving their war on terror into Thailand and many other stupid comments. Now it happens again and who will the Thai officals get angry and blame this time for all the bad publicicty.Last time they got very angry at all the foreign Embassies that put out warnings against coming to Thailand saying they had everything under control.I also liked the comments from Howel (#49) and Lazar (#47)
It sure looks like this goverment is not in controll of anything !

'The bombs that exploded in a busy Bangkok street yesterday were intended for "foreign nationals" in Thailand, national police chief Priewpan Damapong said.'

So that makes it OK ? They are not terrorists because they were not targeting Thais. Unbelievable !

They had enough C4 to kill and injure an awful lot of Thai people too.

Geralda D45: it's best YS says as little as possible for the good of Thailand. It's a well known fact that public speaking is not one of her best assets.

P.S. The sheriff was last spotted cruising around in his pink Mercedes.

Three bomb blasts in any other capital city in the world would have had the country's leader speaking out against such atrocities and reassuring the population that every resource would be used to capture the perpetrators and see them dealt with under the full force of the law. But where is Yingluck? Still on her election tour or too embarrassed to come back and admit that she and her goverment were way too casual in their response to the warning of an attack? And where is Chalerm? Is he also suffering from an acute bout of embarrassment that he too got it wrong? People, this government is not capable of dealing with the big issues and they do not get much bigger than a terrorist attack on a sovereign state. They can call it whatever way they want but a terrorist is still a terrorist by any other name.

There is an alert in six provinces for bomb threats basicly everywhere in thailand.

I'd give a leg and a leg to find the Iranians who are still at large for this cowardly act.

Whatever Secretary-General Wichean Photephosree is saying, the facgt is he is not in control of security and does not perform his job.
The Secretary General should resign with immediate effect, as yet again our "protectors" had absolutely no clue of the existence of these "Terrorists", yes terrorists, trying to kill at random.
How can Wichean stutter some absolute nonsense as in his press release, e.g. see BP/NSC: Bombs not for Sabotage!
Also the Thai Foreign Minister Surapong, likewise, wants to assure us of the capabilities of the security forces here in Thailand. How does he intend to do this, as the past couple of weeks have spoken for their incapabilities and lack of information and prevention.

Radio receiver stuffed with C4/Semtex was rather popular with these guys a few years back, like the PanAm103-Lockerbie incident.

In another news, you can pick up several kilos of C4 and detonators within a week of arriving in Thailand. AWSOME! Do they deliver ?
