Israel warns Thailand could be terror target

Security is being beefed up at the country's six international airports which could become possible new targets for acts of sabotage following a terror warning by Israel, national police chief Priewpan Damapong says.

Pol Gen Priewpan yesterday told the Transport Ministry to place the international airports, under the Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT), on high alert as Israel has warned terrorists may be targetting them.

I'm wondering as to why so far the Thai police and foregin department haven't ask their "good freinds" of Iran, to apprehend the female accomplice involved in this weeks bombing, instrumental renting the safe house at Sukhumvit Soi 71, and insist on an extradition within not less then 30 days, or threaten diplomatic actions of severe consequences.
this would be the norm elsewhere in the world, in order to upheld any normal diplomatic relations, considering the seriousness of this matter.
Besides that, Iran could show their truthfulness in having claimed not to be involved in the affair.

"American people are proud of the work you have done on this case".
Is that a comment from President Obama??.

Did the reporter get it wrong or the Pol Gen? It seems quite clear that this type of terrorist is targetting individuals, not planning airport massacres. Surely the point is to ramp up immigration checks at airports, in an effort to identify such people and stop them entering the country?

Hang on, is the suspected terrorist being extradited to Britain then? How can they use the agreement with Britain to extradite this person from malaysia? It did at one time belong to Great Britain yes, but will it stand up in a court of international law? It is obvious these people,(could be 5 or more) are not that well trained. What international flights go to chiangmai etc, i thought they changed planes at Bangkok? wait an see.

You can be sure that if Israel intelligence are on to something, it's worth taking seriously. They may be playing up Iran as a threat, but let's face it, their information so far has proved spot on. It's a good thing this one went wrong and the damage minimal, hopefully the local police will take it all seriously now, because the Iran crisis is only going to escalate in the next few months and if things go the wrong way it's going to be disastrous for the whole world, not just bombs, but oil prices, etc.

While it is sad that Thailand has been chosen as a (soft) target, from past experience, it is obvious that appeasement will not work.

After all, this has happened just after Thailand 'recognized' a (non-existent) Palestinian State. This terrorism is part of a fanatical international effort. In the USA the 'underwear bomber' was given a life sentence amid anti-Israel comments & rantings about OBL not being dead...

Thailand must remain vigilant & alert...

Will these attacks come from normal criminals or real terrorists this time?
