Ms Thitima, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's deputy secretary-general for political affairs, said the team led by Mr Chalerm and Gen Yutthasak will have a weekly meeting with these agencies, collate security-related reports from them, prepare a summary and report directly to Ms Yingluck.

The agencies are the National Security Council, National Intelligence Agency, Royal Thai Police and the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Transport and Sports and Tourism.

@Ronald #8: You write: “[Chalerm] would have been a better guy, if he had stayed at home a few years ago to educate his sons about morals.”
I am sure Chalerm thinks he is the perfect father. All his sons are proud to be his son. Wherever they go the sentence “Do you know who my father is?” is their most important statement. And Chalerm helped them again and again to get rid of unpleasant accusations and lawsuits. Is this not what a good father should do?

@Disc,7 "He does what he says just the same as on the packet". Like Smoking Kills. Yes not good for you & also not proven that it is worse than obesity or alchohol. He is a man with predections, that to date, have not happened. He would have been a better guy, if he had stayed at home a few years ago to educate his sons about morals.

He is the right man for the job. I hope he takes no prisoners so to say. Disc2# you are so right.
Disc 5# Some of my fav programes. He should also have been involved in the committee concerning the unusualy wealthy person. He does what he says just the same as on the packet. Drugs, security, corruption they are all realated in one way or another.

Surely he can do a better job than Khun Suthep, who thinks people don't get shot, they just walk in front of bullets.

Khun Chalerm can not be accused of being afraid of new responsibilities .... but I think that he should have a spin doctor and a media adviser attached to him .. so that he can better communicate with the public ... exactly as seen in many western countries .
