Asst village chief slain in Yala

An assistant village headman was shot dead in an ambush at Ban Luemu in Yala’s Krong Penang district late Tuesday morning, said Pol Col Samniang Luechiakkam, chief of Krong Penang police station.

Adong Maseng-bangee, assistant chief for security of Ban Ube in tambon Krong Penang, was travelling on his motorcycle back home from his rubber plantation on a local road when gunmen hiding in the roadside forest fired on him with shotguns, the district police chief said.

Adong fell  from his motorcycle and tried to run away, but the gunmen followed, shot him again at close range and then fled.

    Lutac D#1.

Agreed. It seems that these terrorists are operating too freely. Something needs to be done. The stern approach has been tried. The conciliatory approach has been tried, yet the violence continues to rise.

Too many deaths and violence in our South. I hope people in Bangkok remember that we have a problem with our cousins there. They have a problem, and we need to be more aware.
