Two soldiers were seriously injured in a roadside bombing in Narathiwat’s Muang district on Saturday morning, said Pol Lt Nattaya Supanpong, duty officer at Muang Narathiwat police station.
Six soldiers of a security unit were patrolling a local road on three motorcycles at Ban Chood Daeng in tambon Manang Tayor of Muang district at about 9am when the bomb went off.
Pvt Arisman Wayeng, 23, and Pvt Sangworawut Ngamprom, also 23, were injured and taken to Narathiwat Ratchanakarin hospital.
Police blamed separatist militants.
