Thanasak to interview for promotions

Supreme Commander Thanasak Patimapakorn will interview military generals today and tomorrow to decide who will be promoted in the upcoming annual reshuffle, a source said.

The source said Gen Thanasak will chair an interview panel to screen generals holding specialist positions or those who are in active posts for key posts during the military reshuffle.

Earlier, the supreme commander had asked the Directorate of Joint Personnel to send a letter asking generals holding specialist and senior specialist positions in the armed forces to present their visions to a military committee before they were called for an interview.

this country needs to stop promoting generals and le4t the retirement attrition reduce the numbers to a realistic level and delete the unnecessary general posts to Colonel posts before promoting more generals.

Military should organize and develop a good package for these generals. It could be funded by so many of attractive military assets, land etc. which are now situated in the middle of BKK and other big cities. Some of them are at beautiful beaches. Most of these military units should be moved out to developing rural cities area or they are not needed at all and should be de-established.
