Village chief slain in Narathiwat

A village headman was shot dead inside his food and tea shop in Narathiwat’s Rueso district on Wednesday morning, reports said.
Police at Rueso police station received a report of the attack about 7am. Rueso police chief Pol Col Dulayaman Yaena led a joint police and military force to the scene.
They found the dead body of Anand Ahamae, 46, chief of Ban Tapoh in tambon Suwaree of Rueso district. He had been shot six times, with bullets hitting his body and face.
