NARATHIWAT : Three people were killed and 36 injured, many seriously, in a bomb blast that hit a local train in Rueso district of Narathiwat yesterday.

State Railway of Thailand governor PrapatChongsanguan inspects a wrecked train carriage after a bombattack Sunday. Thebomb was planted on railway tracks about 1kmfrom Salo Bukit Yure station in Narathiwat’s Rueso district. The blast killed three people and wounded 36 others. WAEDAOHARAI

The bomb went off hours before US President Barack Obama's arrival in Thailand. Some observers believe it was intended to embarrass Thailand in the eyes of the international community.

@Disc 2 - Right on, how sad the police chief admits attacks like this occurs almost everyday and innocent lives are lost. PTP pointed fingers at the DEM for the crisis in the South, but it seems like they are not doing any better.

What an admission from the Deputy Police chief. Treat it as a normal everyday bombing and murder
