Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Tarit Pengdith yesterday defended the decision to lay murder charges against former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his former deputy Suthep Thaugsuban.
Mr Tarit said the DSI had taken every appropriate step in the case, noting that the accused have the right to file complaints against the charges if they wish.
Given that Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep were holders of high office, the DSI would not respond to any criticisms made by the two murder suspects, Mr Tarit said, but will simply continue doing its duty.
