Militants hunt Buddhists in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT - A gang of Islamic militants burned down the Bacho Tambon Administration Organisation office on Thursday, after failing to find any Buddhist employees to kill.

Seven armed men stormed into the offices of the Bacho TAO in Bacho district shortly after noon.

Abdulwaha Dulayapinij, the office’s chief administrator, told the police he and seven other employees were just leaving for lunch.

    Spiceman

I agree with you. They should pull out the entire Buddhist population and put a ring of steel around the area. The govt. and the military need to get serious about this. It's hard enough to fight an armed insurgency, without the added complication of a targeted population being in harm's way.

'Bad things', that one speaks about, dont 'go away', but might even get bigger ("We succeeded, see how ...."). BP, why not simply cook it on a very low flame, if at all?

Just as BP reported a few hours ago that a policeman had been shot dead by a terrorist sniper, I predicted the beginning of a new phase of the terrorists' equivalence of special operation sweeping through the area. And it is happening right now as we speak. The Deep South is now officially an active war zone, so its time for the Military to decide whether to put up the fight or begin evacuating the Buddhist population out of the area, in order to minimize the loss of innocent lives. Indecision equals making a decision to let the increasing numbers of the Buddhist population to be systematically murdered by the terrorists with immunity.

Errr drsmith how about save your anger for the armed criminals perhaps!!
I have never been held at gunpoint or confronted by armed militants but am pretty sure i would tell them along the same lines as what he did. It is unlikely said militants would return to a charred office anyways.
And who knows he might have lied to throw them off the scent, all we do know is 7 employees are still alive and seven hungry to kill militants didn't actually harm anyone. Not a bad result really is it. And the authoritiea will be on their trail too now maybe, who knows

What a coward! "Mr Abdulwaha then explained there was a female Buddhist Thai civil servant identified as Suchada sae Li working at the SAO as a community development officer, level 3, but she was on leave today" sounds like he doesn't care if they kill her or not or come back the next day now that he has identified her to the killers. Cowardly act
