M79 rounds land near children's centre

Two M79 grenades landed in a rubber plantation behind a children's development centre and opposite an army base in Ruso district of Narathiwat province last night, but caused no casualties.

The base of Company 15121 of Narathiwat Task Force is located at Ban Pupo in tambon Samakkhi.

Pol Col Anothai Jindamanee, the Ruso police chief, and a team of bomb disposal police this morning went to examine the scene on being reported on the the scene of the incident, which occurred about 8.10pm.

    An M79's 40mm round has a decidedly limited range. Judging from the angle they hit, it shouldn't be hard to find where they were fired from. It would still be hard to find whomever fired them, who would of course be long gone.
