I strongly agree with you. It is not the first time that the Thailitary / Thailand uses this tactic. They agree not to use forces but after they leave a meeting with unhappy result of the meeting. What a childish game! Let' see what is happening after the April hearing.

Yes Thailand will move out now to look good, when the ICJ confirms its original decision, they will be back!!

This was agreed to by both sides years ago. Unfortunately, the Khmers instead dug-in and fortified their positions in and around Phra Viharn, with bunkers for machine guns and mortars, aimed at Thailand. Just goes to show that you can't trust the Hun Sen regime.

A small step forward, in the right direction. In view of his culpable mishandling of the Preah Vihear dispute while in office, Abhisit's credibility on the matter is holed below the water-line. If the price of opening up the area to tourism is conceding nominal ownership of the temple to Cambodia, then that would be a price well worth paying, for both sides.

Dao dis#6, you can't continue to distort history when all the information are at public domain. The temple legal custodian has been already determined in 1962 by ICJ and not as you said "given away by Taksin lawyers". World Heritage Committee decided to list PV as heritage site and Cambodia in 2008 announced their intention to inscribe World Heritage by UNESCO. Thailand refused at first but relented and agreed to the inscription. That's when AV and his rightist cohorts started their terror campaign that leads to the border war. He was the mess.

Finally an end to the "Democrats" nationalistic madness. Naturally, neighboring countries should be able to have peaceful discussions without the threat of war and violence. Particularly since both countries belong to a future "ASEAN community".

Thats a very simplistic view of what happened .Thaksin stoked the conflict by becoming an economic advisor for his money making buddy Hun Sen .Taksins lawyer started the conflict by announcing that Thailand would give the temple to Cambodia .Abhisit was stuck cleaning up the mess as usual .But he has had to clean up a lot of Taksins messes . He is then condemned for it as people become dependent once again on handouts .

This was agreed to by both sides years ago. They were to remove all troops from the immediate area of the temple immediately. to be relplaced by and Indonesian peace keeping force. Instead of doing it, they had a small undeclared war in which villagers in the border regions were killed. I wouldn't trust this pair of windbags to watch my neighbors dog, let alone participate in an international border demarcation agreement.

Respect the border demarcation and the court ruling and move on .Thailand and cambodia could use this as a chance to open the temple together .It would be "Buddhist"
