NSC: Talks with separatists in 2 weeks

Talks between Thailand and factions within the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) separatist movement will begin in two weeks, National Security Council chief Paradorn Pattanatabut said on Thursday.

Malaysia would facilitate the meeting by bringing BRN representatives to talks at a location in Thailand, he said in a telephone interview from Kuala Lumpur.

My suspicions, that it is a political cheap trick to make PT and Thaksin look good, have just been confirmed. It is a farce, nothing else. Thaksin, Yingluck and everybody involved in this action should be held responsible for any consequences such as increased violence in the South. The backfiring is starting soon. If my opinion is wrong, I will apologize .

'Without his private talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Malaysia would not help us to make today happen," Lt Gen Paradon said when asked about Thaksin's role.'

Doesn't say much for the PM's ability does it?
