Pattani gun attacks kill 3, injure one

PATTANI - Three people have been killed and one injured in four separate attacks in Pattani over the weekend.

The latest violence comes in the wake of the government's agreement to hold peace talks with the rebel group Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN), signed last month in Kuala Lumpur.

Isn't that the saddest picture you could even see of the ladies helmet. Think about her going about her business and then seeing the creeps with guns

The police down there are not stupid so what or who is stopping them from doing basic policework to track down these cretins. The killers cannot have jobs, they have money and I would imagine a real bad attitude so how hard can it be to find them.

The Thais might learn from what the Malays do this time - dont talk - just shoot them - talk peace with those that want it but not these lowlifes

The 'goverment''s talks with BRN will probably end up in a peace agreement, with BRN, not with the violent insurgents and terrorists, bringing the BRN (and Thaksin) to the foreground again, making the situation even more complex than it is now. What is 'Thailand' ready to GIVE to the native population of the deep South? Thai sovereignty, Thai language, Thai teachers, Thai police, Thai law, Thai army, Thai... As long as: compromise = loss of face, for Thailand, it will be: no compromise = violence for a growing (well supported and financed) minority of natives, IMHO.

Sadly once again more people were MURDERED in the South, Nipa Promphet, 52 was killed as she was on a motorcycle returning to her home in tambon Talokapo in Yaring district. Probably simply because she was the wife of a policeman.
Perhaps the cowards who carried out these attacks were not members of the BRN-C.

With "Peace" like this, who needs "War?"

Thailand occupied and annexed the sultanate of Pattani some 110 years ago.
The speak Yawi, they are Muslims and they don’t want to be forced to learn Thai in school. Call them separatists, terrorists, freedom fighters, they just want to decide their own fate. The native Indians in the US got their self rule, the Laplanders in Scandinavia got their government (Sweden, Finland, Norway) and self rule, the “guerrilla” in East Timor got their own new country, Aceh got their autonomy, the list goes on and on.
It’s amazing to listen to people making comments to call the Israelis for help, the US to advice and so on. I have not met a sin
