25 Rohingya arrested in Phuket

PHUKET - Twenty-five Rohingya from Myanmar have been arrested and charged with illegal entry, police said on Wednesday.

The Rohingya migrants, comprising both men and women, were arrested about 11am at Ban Khok Tanot in tambon Chalong of Phuket province, where a tour bus they were travelling on was stopped for a search.

The migrants said they travelled via Bangladesh to Malaysia before taking the bus, which was heading for Phuket, according to police.\
